Hello HLM Blog Followers:
We again feature Foster Swift’s Blog written by my colleague Julie Fershtman, Esq..
Julie discusses accidents that can occur involving equine practice and ownership and encourages her readers to check out their insurance coverage with their carrier.
As you check the coverage, ask your carrier if mediation is considered prior to a lawsuits being filed.  If it is, retaining a relationship post settlement may be easier than if they don’t.  Using mediation before lawsuits are filed enables the parties to have a less confrontational discussion and work out remedies more in line with what they fairly want while retaining relationships not strained by pending litigation.
Enjoy Julie’s wonderful blog and we are grateful for the permission to re-post.
Kind Regards,
Debra Vey Voda-Hamilton
